The Rental Edit - Kristy's Bedroom
This room is my own little pastel paradise and sanctuary. It's feminine, soft and a total haven for me to spend time in. I often find myself lounging in here over the living room as it's light, bright and cosy, and always the warmest room of the house. Yet, while it may look lovely in these pics, it did come with a few challenges along the way,. I knew as soon as I stepped foot in this space that I needed to get creative for it to feel less like a shoe box and more like a luxe boudoir...
This week we focus on
1. Maximising the footprint of a small bedroom
2. Softening your room to create tranquil vibes
The Rental edit - Lachy's Bedroom
Lachy has just turned 11, and let's be honest - styling tween spaces are particularly challenging! Our little people are growing out of their junior spaces, but are not quite ready for an adult styled space. Add into the mix the fact that they're also growing 'opinions' of their own about how they'd like their room to look, and it suddenly adds a whole new layer of complications... It's a compact room, but we've managed to pack a punch using his walls as the main focal point. The result is a fun and age appropriate space with a level of sophistication that is sure to carry him through the next few years.
This week we focus on
1. Creative ways to add personality to blank walls
2. Extending the lifespan of your art and frames
The Rental edit - Lachy's Chill out zone
As Lachy gets older, his needs are changing, and having a separate zone to escape, relax, spend with friends and study (or let's be real...play video games!) was high on his wish list. Having this area has been an absolute game changer (pardon the pun) for him to spend time with friends in, and gain a little more independence as he gets older. Having a second area where his games, books, lego, toys and art supplies can be stored has also been helpful in keeping his bedroom clutter free (well, most of the time anyway, ha).
This week we focus on
1. Storage solutions for rentals without wardrobes
2. Creating cohesion between spaces
3. Clever ways to use rugs in your rental
