There is nothing I love more than each night getting into my bed and cocooning myself in my linen bedsheets. Linen is the perfect companion for a good night's sleep, and let’s face it - linen sheets also look divine on a perfectly made bed! Whilst linen ticks all the boxes, there is no denying that the investment to get set-up can be high.
With this being front of mind, we have searched high and low for years, trying to find the perfect linen that meets all ‘fussy norsu’ needs.
However, its with great joy we can announce our search is finally over! Our friends at Weave Home have nailed every aspect of their new Ravello Bedding range and we couldn’t be more excited to stock this as part of our core range. This one is here to stay!
We’ve had fun styling up a storm - hope you love this new range as much as we do. On a personal note, Lozzie and I had the joy of meeting Paul… the brains behind this new collection. Massive congrats Paul, you’ve nailed it!
Why we love the Ravello range
Linen, linen and more linen
Timeless colours - it really ticked our boxes for two reasons, the on trend warm earthy colours, plus it features the classic ‘norsu’ staple colours that we keep going back to time and time again.
Quality - The Ravello range is made from 100% French Flax Linen, each piece has been carefully crafted to be the softest, most luxurious linen you’ve ever owned. Created in some of the world’s finest fabric mills, this linen is the ultimate in comfort, organically scrumptious and soft. Each product from the Ravello range is prewashed and aero finished (a process resulting in shine and smooth finish) for a unique and luxuriously soft, relaxed feel, making it a dream to rest and relax in.
Well thought out details - Featuring unique, internal ties to secure the quilt inside, this quilt cover was designed to keep your quilt in place and stop it from moving around inside the cover while you're sleeping. Is that not the best thing you’ve ever heard!?! And featuring hidden buttons to complete the cover closure. So important!
Price - for comparable linens on the market, the Ravello range is priced second to none, thanks to the reputable master brand Warwick and their well established relationships with the fabric mills - that’s relationship goals right there!
Sustainably made - Made from 100% French Flax linen and Oeko-Tex certified. Oeko-Tex certification means you can be certain that every component (every thread, button and other accessories) has been tested for harmful substances and is therefore harmless for human health.
We started with a white fitted sheet and let share a little WOW factor feature of Weave's design...they include a wide elastic bag which means the sheet pulls tort under your mattress.
Not only do we adore the freshness crisp white brings to every combo, we imagine lots of you reading this may already own these saving you some $$$.
We then layered with a coloured flat sheet and coordinating pillowcase set (Shell in this example).
When making your bed, pull your duvet and flat sheet high so you can fold both back, instantly creating the luxurious hotel vibe. Weave have add a thick hemmed detail - it's heavenly!
Finish off your combo by adding your favourite coloured duvet colour (Caper in this example) which introduces a third tone. Trust me, this is the winning formula.
Oh I nearly forgot the cushions (Nat are you feeling OK!?) - cherry pick colours out of your artwork and add an abundance of cushions in these hues. Don't forget a variation of textures too.
Why we love linen bedding
Linen is highly absorbent - The molecular structure of linen means it can literally hold up to 20 times its weight in moisture before ever feeling damp. This allows more airflow and means it's less likely to cling to the skin. Water (perspiration) is absorbed and wicked away from the skin, then quickly evaporates. Making it the ideal fabric for an uninterrupted, clean sleep. No clammy sheets here!
Linen is temperature - regulating. Whether it's a hot and humid summer night, or a frosty cold morning, linen has you covered, without causing you to overheat. Its natural insulating properties regulate temperature like no other fabric.
Linen gets softer with each wash. Unlike its counterparts, it also softens and becomes more delicious with each use and wash. Like a fine wine, it only gets better with age!
Its hypo-allergenic - Due to its remarkable properties, linen sheets are a wonderful option for those with skin issues or sensitivities, creating a healthy microclimate for the skin.
Sustainably made - Linen is made from the flax plant, where virtually all parts of the plant are used in the harvesting process, leaving no footprint. It requires less water to grow, fewer pesticides and no chemicals are needed to produce the fibres. Needing very little irrigation when grown and minimally processed means it's a renewable resource. And being made from 100% natural fibers, it's also biodegradable.
A great investment - Linen retains its shape thanks to its natural elasticity and is twice as durable as cotton and wool. Substantially stronger than cotton, linen sheets don’t just last , but last in good condition for many years. This is exactly why linen bedding is a good investment, if properly cared for it can literally last decades.
Repeals critters - Linen is resistant to bacteria, fungus, dust mites, and is naturally insect repellent.
How to care for linen
Linen only gets better with age and if cared for correctly, can last a lifetime.
Washing - Weave Home bed linen can be machine washed on a cold gentle cycle using a mild detergent to protect the fibres. Don’t be afraid of washing your linen pieces, as they continue to get softer each time.TIP: Instead of using bleach on your linen, show it some love with natural products. Add a squeeze of lemon or a dash of vinegar into your machine to help brighten and soften your linen. Drying - Air drying is preferable for linen, as it's best to keep your natural fibres out of the tumble dryer. Tumble drying is not recommended.TIP: Simply give it a thorough shake and hang flat to dry to avoid needing to iron at all. It works every time! Ironing - The best thing about linen is it doesn’t need to be ironed, the natural creases improve the aesthetic, which is perfect for all those busy bodies out there. However, if you're a little uncomfortable with this, a simply warm iron is perfectly fine! Storing - Always store your linen in a cool, dry place. Never in a plastic bag! This will ensure they stay fresh and last for years!TIP: To avoid the colour changing or fading, when you're not using it, place your treasured linen in a bag so it's airtight.
