We get that it's not always easy to choose a lamp for your bedside or console from a picture on a website. After chatting with our Marketing Manager Bianca this week who happens to be in the market for new bedside lamps, it got us thinking...
We often style our lamps to show you what objects they pair well with, but we rarely talk about which lamps are best used in certain parts of your home.
Tips and tricks for selecting your perfect lamp
Think Scale
Height matters when it comes to the amount of light your lamp emits. Taller lamps should be used living spaces as they cast light wider than a lower lamp with a heavy shade that condenses the light's direction. To help with this we have created a 'lamp line up' below which orders our lamps by shortest to tallest.
Bulb temperature and wattage matters
A warm or cool lamp can make or break the ambience in your space. If you're looking for a soft evening light, opt for a low wattage warm globe, but if you're in need of extra light at your workstation, go for something cool and bright.
Task lighting considerations
Make sure your lamp is suitable for the task they are required for. Consider how they will be used, and how much light you need them to cast before looking at design.
Don't forget the cord
Often overlooked, your cord can make or break your styled vignette. Hiding your cords as much as possible is strongly recommended, using cord ties or larger items such as leaning artwork.
