Harvey's lockdown room makeover
There's no denying it's really tough on our kids at the moment. Life is anything from normal as their worlds have been turned upside down.
At norsu HQ, it's been a particularly challenging week for our littles, so we're bringing some cheer in one of the best ways we know how - a fun room makeover!
Seven year old Harvey's bedroom was one of the most loved rooms when we renovated the norsuHOME three years ago. But as he grows, and his needs and interests change, it's time to tweak it a little.
The foundational elements such as wall colour, fixtures and staple furniture (well most of it, anyway!) have remained the same, but we've been able to completely transform the vibe by replacing some key decorative pieces - artwork, furnishings and a new bed upgrade (hello Alice!). The result? A brand new room that will carry Harvey through to his next stage in life.

1. Upsized Harvey's Bed
As Harvey grows, moving from a single to a queen size bed will allow him more sleeping space and opportunities for sleep overs with friends once lockdown is over.
Pairing both the Alice bed and bedside table together in the Sage, Harvey is able to have a 'grown' up bed that still is so much fun! The best part about a larger bed (well, for the us here at norsu)
is the need for more cushions!! (YAY!) Mixing a wide range of textures, shapes and colours allows for this bed to come to life.
2. New Artwork
Harvey has chosen new custom artwork that reflects his evolving style. Creating a gallery wall with multiple sizes and frame colours creates a fun way of displaying art. With our prints and frames, it's such an affordable way to update a space, and in way that reflects the personality of your child/young adult!
3. New Accessories
Often overlooked in the room design process, the finishing touches play a big part when if comes to the overall feel to the space.
Careful consideration has been given to select items that pair with the hero elements in the room. A mix of fun accessories, toys, plants and books are all key items for a new bedroom.
And don't forget to add pieces that are part of their favourite activities eg Harvey's skateboard, Finska and his ukulele. Also create a zone where they can 'hang out' - you'll see below our new wow factor floor cushion positioned on a round textured rug.
** Please note, Harvey's LED cloud light is from Electric Confetti.
